One of Singapore's oldest sandpit playgrounds was demolished in 2011, along with the residential estates surrounding it in Dover estate in the West of Singapore. The government decided to stop building such playgrounds in 1993 due to safety concerns arising from design flaws, hence making them rarer with each passing day.
