Telok Kurau Road
This road connects Changi Road to Marine Parade Road and was named after a fishing village named Telok Kurau on East Coast Road. According to Infopedia, the name ‘Telok Kurau’, means ‘Mango Fish Bay’ in Malay. Mango fish (Polynemus risua) is in the threadfin family. More commonly, Ikan Kurau is also used to refer to ‘threadfin’, also known as ‘Ngoh Her’ in Hokkien.
